States and Districts Rosters

Congratulations to all team members who have qualified or been selected to compete at the NJSDL State Championships and the NJ District Qualifying Tournament!

  • If you were not selected for States, there may still be an opportunity for you to compete in either Congress or Declamation. Please see a coach if you are interested.
  • All competitors in interpretation events are required to register their piece information here (change workbooks to change between tournaments). They  must also have their script on-hand at all times for the duration of each tournament.
  • All competitors in public address events are required to register the titles of their pieces at the same link, and must submit one annotated copy of their speech (with works cited) to a coach and carry another copy with them.
  • All competitors in debate should familiarize themselves with NSDA rules, especially on evidence challenges and use of Wifi.
  • If you have questions about these tournaments, visit this link for more information, or speak to a VP or coach.

Districts Rosters

Well done to all team members for a fantastic season. It’s not over yet!

CFL #3 Cancelled

We received word this afternoon that CFL #3 at Montville is cancelled, so there will be no tournament tomorrow (12/17). We will keep you updated if the tournament is rescheduled for another time. Enjoy the weekend, be safe, and we’ll see everyone for our holiday cookie exchange on Tuesday after-school.

Team Apparel

Our annual apparel sale has begun! Go to Fundraising -> Apparel on the menus above, or click here to be taken to the site. It features the apparel order forms as well as photos of the styles we are offering this year. Orders are due by Thursday, October 20, as we need to ensure the apparel is delivered before our home tournament.

Mailing List

Keeping in contact regularly throughout the year is important in our activity. We’ll be able to send updates on results, upcoming dates and deadlines, interesting opportunities, and the like. So with that in mind…

Please join our mailing list! It’s the way we keep in touch with parents and team members throughout the year. To join, fill out this form: http://goo.gl/forms/xM8FKR5Hgo

Yale Signups

This year the Yale Invitational will be held on September 16-18. All team members who would like to compete should complete the Yale Invitational Sign-up. The registration window opens at 1pm on August 1, so any team member who signs up after risks being waitlisted. More information can be found on the Yale 2016 Invitation.

We are opening consideration for ANY team member to attend Yale this year, including new members who are rising 9th graders, up to a maximum of 25. All team members attending Yale will be asked to come to “preseason” meetings in the first two weeks of school before the tournament.

We would like to finalize the trip by August 29. Once we finalize numbers, paperwork and payment information will be distributed.

NSDA Nationals Livestream

The NSDA runs two livestreams of the national final rounds in ALL categories. Visit this link to see the schedule (all times in MDT) and make sure to watch the best of the best in the country (and the world). Interp finals are particularly impressive if you have time to watch. Enjoy!

2016-17 Interest Meeting

We will be hosting a lunchtime interest meeting for current 9-11 graders interested in learning more about Forensics/Speech and Debate. Please feel free to stop by with friends and spread the word – there will be food, and no commitments are necessary. Come learn about what we do, why we do it, and what you might be good at in B164 at lunch on Thursday June 2.
